WARNING TO EXPLORER OWNERS

AUG 9 -- Firestone's recall of defective ATX and Wilderness AT tires addresses only part of the problem. Owners of Ford Explorers have a larger problem: What to do now?

Explorer owners who consult their owners' manuals will find a warning from Ford that failure to follow Ford specific recommendation for tire types, size load-carrying capacity, and even tread design "may adversely affect the handling of the vehicle and make it easier to lose control and roll over which could result in serious injury"

EXPLORER OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT FORD (1-800-392-3673) OR THEIR FORD DEALER FOR SPECIFIC RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A SAFE REPLACEMENT TIRE.
